About Me

My name is Lindsey Corrigan. I am a mother, a Registered Nurse, and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I worked as a Registered Nurse in labour and delivery and postpartum care within the hospital setting for five years. Currently, I work at Conestoga College, where I teach and support student learning in the Health Sciences Department. I have experience working as a lactation consultant in the hospital setting at WHRN Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital), where I remain employed on a casual basis.

I hold a Master’s degree in Nursing Science and completed extensive nursing research focused on breastfeeding during my graduate studies. In my role as an RN, I had the privilege of supporting families through their unique infant-feeding journeys. Through this work, I developed a strong passion for empowering women to achieve their breastfeeding goals and found great meaning in spending dedicated time with families.

At the same time, I became increasingly aware of the significant barriers many families face due to inadequate breastfeeding and infant-feeding support in hospital settings. The limited time available during shifts often made it difficult to provide the level of care and support families needed and deserved. This experience motivated me to pursue my lactation consultant certification, allowing me to work more closely with families and provide comprehensive, individualized breastfeeding support.
